Attractions

In South Tyrol there are many attractions. But why look so far afield when there is so much close at hand? The Hotel Oberwirt in Vöran awaits you with many highlights in front of your door. Or just a few minutes’ drive away.

The „Knottnkino“ in Vöran

30 cinema seats made from steel and chestnut wood. A breathtaking view over die Etschtal Valley. May we present: “our” open-air cinema in Vöran. Here, on Rotsteinkogel mountain, between the villages of Hafling and Vöran you can enjoy always another film, at any time of the day. The Knottnkino is a real insider’s tip for families!

The „Stoanernen Mandln“

The „Stoanernen Mandln“ is a popular hiking destination in Vöran. The little stone men, as in other parts of South Tyrol, often served as a means of orientation, or were built by shepherds as a pastime. But only here, above the villages on the mountain plateau, such a concentration of small stone pyramids can be found. Some even still preserve prehistoric characteristics!

The Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle

In the Mediterranean Gardens of Trauttmansdorff Castle, in the periphery of Meran, garden lovers and botanists will find plants from all over the world. A romantic pond of water lilies. 11 artistic pavillons. Local and exotic plants as far as the eye can reach. Moreover the Gardens host the Touriseum. It is the first museum in the Alpine region dedicated exclusively to the history of tourism.
